Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Linsey Keiller
Mrs Lyndsay Mackinnon

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are Registered Nurses who are highly experienced with further education and training at Masters level. This allows them to diagnose and treat your healthcare needs. As well as prescribing they can also refer individuals to secondary care both in acute situations and routinely. They work closely with GP's who support ANP's when required. You may be able to see an ANP quicker than a GP. Please ask if this is an option when booking appointments.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), ECG's, blood pressure measurements, some injections / vaccinations and lifestyle advice. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
